BIOGRAPHY

Anna Tenta is a Swiss/Austrian actress and former dancer. She was born in Salzburg*3.3.1977, grew up

in France and Switzerland, studied in Salzburg at Mozarteum/University of performing arts & SEAD, and worked afterwords for 11 years as dancer and choreographer internationally. She has danced for Cie.Sans Filtre, the Forsythe Company, Salome Schneebeli, Joachim Schloemer, Prue Lang and many others. As a choreographer she did both, her own group and solo work- as well as commissioned choreographies, for Schauspielhaus Zürich,

NRJ fashion night and other runway events.

In 2009 she received the award for outstanding achievement from the city of Zürich in the field

of dance, choreography and performance.

After her son Johnny was born, she transitioned to acting and lived briefly in the US to receive solid acting training. Anna has since then appeared in numerous television and film productions and became popular in theater for "True Nature” (2012) a play written and co-directed by her in which she also played the lead. The play was an instant success and was mainly performed at “Theater am Neumarkt”/Zürich and at the “Stadttheater Bern”. 2014 she moved to Belgium, where she has been a series regular on a Flemish Belgian Comedy series called “De Zonen van Van As” (2014-18). She had the chance to work alongside Catherine Deneuve in the award winning and golden globe nominated Belgian film by Jaco van Dormaels, “le tout nouveau testament” that premiered in Cannes(2015). Anna later had a lead role in the second season of the BBC Drama Series "our girl", that was filmed in South Africa, directed by Jan Mattys. Later she was filming “freaks out” in Rome, a feature film by Gabriele Mainetti, in wich she played the partner of German actor Franz Rogowski. She appeared in several Swiss feature films such as “der Unschuldige” by Simon Jaquement, or “Jagdzeit” by Sabine Boss, acted in German TV formats like “Tatort” and other crime series, she worked with the Riahi brothers in Austria for "Dunkle Wasser", and with Mike Schaerer on "Maloney-Killerinstinkte". Recently (may 2025) had premiere with the Spanish feature film “lo que queda de ti” by Gala Gracia, that has already accumulated numerous awards since its premiere.

Anna’s home base is Antwerp, Belgium, and next to acting she is in financing with her first feature film as a writer and director “Invictus Nox”,

a Belgian-Swiss co-production.
